The Ballmer Group and Social Solutions Join Forces
In 2018, the Ballmer Group announced a $59 million, five-year commitment to Social Solutions. This strategic partnership will accelerate product development and enable affordable access to Apricot 360 software.
On the choice to partner with Social Solutions, Steve Ballmer said, “We are impressed with the mission and work of Social Solutions, and I hope others in the tech industry will also accelerate efforts in this sector, bringing more cloud solutions and expertise on how to use data to improve our communities.”
One key area of investment is data analytics, which will promote better collaboration across school districts and community organizations alike to create a more effective impact. While most analytical tools are engineered to just measure activity, such as how many times a student misses classes, Apricot 360 goes beyond that. Advanced analytics help prove the outcome of the tutoring or mentoring, not just that the activity took place.
In a podcast with Geekwire, Steve Ballmer expressed his passion for education with a personal story about his own schooling, and how a teacher giving him additional help jumpstarted his future. Social Solutions shares that same passion and is dedicated to enabling schools and other organizations to provide those same opportunities for every student.
