Impact Summit Day 1: Starting off Strong With Nonprofit Leadership, Inside and Out

Impact Summit is finally here! Day 1 in Austin has proven to be beautiful – great weather, great people, and great sessions all in one place! From the what, why, and how of demonstrating outcomes for nonprofits to steps for throwing a data party with your team, there was so much to learn. And don’t forget all the workshops for our Apricot and ETO software! But guess what? We’re just getting started.

To kick things off, Social Solutions CEO Kristin Nimsger and SVP of Product Management and Data Science John Manganaro led their panel on what’s now and what’s next for not just Social Solutions, but for nonprofit technology as a whole. Take Netflix as an example – it may have only been about 15 years since you went to your favorite video rental store, but could you imagine doing that nowadays? Change accelerated so fast, and the nonprofit industry is next. But as the pair said in the keynote, “we’re not recommending movies and music, we’re changing people’s lives.” When it comes to technology, there’s so much in store for today’s nonprofits.

We also had the honor of announcing our Impact Award winners! There were so many great nominations and finalists for the award, who use technology every day to deliver more mission. We are thrilled to announce our three winners, spanning multiple industries, sizes, and locations, who will be taking home a $2500 award. Congratulations to:
