Performance Management Reporting: Identifying Outcomes that Matter

Performance management is the process of using measurement systems, software, and tools to monitor key organizational benchmarks and make ongoing strategic adjustments that improve outcomes.

In human & social services, performance management should focus on participant outcomes. The reporting tools of a performance management system give an organization’s leadership the information needed to to better understand which services are working for participants, which services require improvement, and what adjustments can be made for ongoing incremental improvement.

This philosophy and process have been adopted by some of the human service industry's most powerful private and public sector government organizations.

Organizations such as Annie E. Casey Foundation and Edna McConnell Clark Foundation use performance management systems to maximize efficiency and continually improve their ability to serve people. They also encourage the human and social services organizations that they fund to follow a similar performance-focused approach to organizational management as well.

Performance Management Software: Tying Organizational Efforts to Outcomes

High performing organizations such as the Harlem Children’s Zone® use performance management to systematically measure and improve their results when providing human and social services.

They use a dashboard-style reporting system for quick access business intelligence that shows tangible progress for each participant, family member, and program, and must be able to show successful outcomes for each program. Our Efforts to Outcomes (ETO™) web-based performance management software allows them to tie your tangible efforts together with the intangible so that they can demonstrate results to key stakeholders.

ETO software accomplishes this by going beyond CRM software or a typical case management system. It is a system with a rich set of tools built to help non profit and government organizations to quickly and easily track efforts, outcomes, and progress as part of a performance management approach to human and social services.

While ETO software does have the typical functionality you would find in a CRM or client management database, it also comes with very specific assessment and measurement systems that can be used to very clearly understand the impact of your work.

You don’t have to take our word for it.

For over a decade we have had the pleasure of working with some of the largest government agencies and human service organizations. Have a look at some of our case studies

Going Beyond Case Management Best Practices

Our software goes beyond the data collection basic requirements. While ETO performance management software tracks participant and family case history, diagnosis, and treatment, the primary focus of the software is in measuring the progression of a participant or family over time, and the impact of each program overall.

Executive directors, program directors, and program managers can use pre-configured or customizable scorecards to quickly and easily compare the efforts expended for a given participant, family, or program with the outcomes achieved. This allows for increased opportunities for more informed investment decisions.
