To recognize their incredible work, Social Solutions presents Client Impact Awards to clients who are using data to make a greater impact in their communities. These awards are employee nominated and can be given to an organization that is rewarding to work with, growing by leaps and bounds or making a big difference in the lives of others. Winners receive a donation to their organization.
Beyond Emancipation and Giving Words were awarded Social Solutions Client Impact Awards. Keep reading to see the impact they are making and why we are proud to support and recognize them.
Since 1995, Beyond Emancipation has supported Alameda County’s current and former foster and probation youth to make successful transitions to adulthood and living independently. Their purpose is to provide a transformational environment for transition-age youth who have experience in foster care or probation placements so they can live healthy, productive and connected lives.
“Beyond Emancipation recently upgraded to Apricot 360 from legacy [Apricot Classic]. During the upgrade implementation, Amanda Leibenhaut, Beyond Emancipation’s Impact and Learning Manager, showcased enormous passion for her work and for driving the impact Beyond Emancipation is making to a larger scale through the use of the new features and functionalities that come with Apricot 360. She is willing to ask difficult questions and dive deeper to understand exactly how and when to use the new features available to her. Amanda is driven to get the best and most out of the system and, though she is a one-person data team, is willing to put in the time and effort to achieve that goal. As her Project Manager, I connected with her over the shared experience of running a small data team for a large organization. Amanda and I stood equal in our goal of educating her as quickly as possible on Apricot 360 functionalities to ultimately allow Beyond Emancipation more efficiency and efficacy in serving their participants.”
A lack of reliable transportation can have an impact on income, school attendance and childcare. Giving Words supports single mothers as they navigate repairs and other transportation issues by offering car repair and giveaway services, educational opportunities, and access to a network and community of support.
“Giving Words helps single mothers in need of transportation or vehicle repairs by working with local schools and repair shops to repair vehicles, and, in some cases, gift cars to those mothers. Since signing on with Apricot in March 2020, they have been able to serve 4x the number of mothers in need, have expanded to neighboring areas, and have established partnerships with AutoZone and Walmart to provide free and low-cost parts, tires and batteries. They are now looking at establishing services in other states.”
“Giving Words: small nonprofit with huge vision and heart. They are a client that has tripled growth in the number of people served due to the efficiencies gained through Apricot. Giving Words and founder Eddie Brown has mastered the art of multiplying impact beyond numbers as they serve single moms—helping them level up and, in the process, connecting them to the community so they have the support to thrive. The primary program provides cars to single moms. Out of this one program, a community of people is connected and each receives the opportunity to give back and experience the beauty and impact of helping others. Groups involved are students, repair shop partners, senior citizens and more. Because of Apricot’s customization, Giving Words is set up to more than quadruple its growth from a start in rural Virginia to an expansion from coast-to-coast.”
