Nashville Promise Neighborhood

The Nashville Promise Neighborhood (NPN), led by the Martha O’Bryan Center, is a collaborative network of 27 partner organizations that provides a continuum of programs and supports for more than 10,300 children and their families in Metro Nashville Public Schools’ (MNPS) Stratford High School Cluster from cradle to college and career. The Nashville Promise Neighborhood has partnered with MNPS and Social Solutions to further enhance their impact on the students they serve, and support student success in school and in life.

Education Challenges in the Nashville Promise Neighborhood Target Areas

  • In 2011, 35.11% of Stratford High School freshmen were retained
  • The Stratford High School graduation rate is 65%, well below the state average of 82.9%
  • High school students in the target area read on average at a fourth grade reading level
  • One in ten children in the target area go on to college
