Emily Megnin is the Director of Customer Support. As the first female employee, Emily Megnin is sometimes known as “Queen of Social Solutions”. She currently serves as Director of Customer Support and she began her career here in 2003 when she was hired as the Office Manager. Her responsibilities have covered everything from training and documentation to putting out fires (figuratively and literally!) and overseeing the implementation of our CRM database. Emily frequently likes to pitch in to answer the phones so she doesn’t forget what it’s like to be on the “front lines” in Customer Support. She prides herself on being the kind of manager that people want to work for and knowing more about ETO than anyone else in the company (except maybe Dave Butz). However, her biggest achievement to date may be taking out numerous colleagues and board members to win a poker tournament at a Social Solutions’ casino night.
Prior to joining Social Solutions she worked as a Child Life Counselor at St. Vincent’s Center (a division of Catholic Charities of Central Maryland), a residential treatment center for children with emotional and behavioral challenges, where she learned that no job could ever be as stressful as one where children love and hate you in equal amounts depending on their mood. Emily received her B.A. in Sociology and Women’s Studies from Goucher College. During her time at Goucher she volunteered for a number of non-profit organizations including House of Ruth Maryland, The Women’s Law Center of Maryland and Women Entrepreneurs of Baltimore. Emily currently lives in Baltimore, MD with her husband Dan and their cat Parker, where they are 4 years in to a never-ending house renovation. She spends her free time traveling, reading and putting off completing home renovation projects.
