February 27– Human Service Organizations Serving Minority Populations Seek Increased Efficiency

Human Service Nonprofits Adopt Performance Management Software 

Baltimore, MD – Social Solutions, the leading provider of nonprofit performance management software for the human services sector, today announced three new customers have adopted its Efforts to Outcomes (ETO™) software. El Buen Samaritano Episcopal Mission, The Ethiopian Community Development Council and the Boston Chinatown Neighborhood Center have turned to Social Solutions to help them track executive and program efforts and relate them to outcomes in an effort to increase organizational effectiveness and accountability.

Founded by human service workers, Social Solutions seeks to revolutionize the effectiveness of the human services sector by helping organizations align their missions, funders’ expectations, and the daily work of their staffs. Social Solutions' ETO software makes it possible to understand and manage the performance of point of service staff, individual agencies, and the community of services as a whole.

El Buen Samaritano Episcopal Mission in Austin, Texas offers a range of services to address the challenges faced by working-poor Hispanic families in the community. As a provider of integrated healthcare, emergency food, advocacy, leadership, development, and basic education since 1987, El Buen Samaritano allows individuals to gain the knowledge and provides them the resources needed to fully integrate into their communities. Through education, outreach and health programs, El Buen Samaritano attends to the physical, mental, and spiritual needs of its participants. In 2007 alone, more than 1,300 students advanced their education at El Buen’s Adults Education Program. In addition, nearly 2,600 individuals received behavioral and mental health care and social services. El Buen Samaritano has fulfilled a unique role in Austin by transforming the lives of the disadvantaged Hispanic population and promoting their successful participation in society.

Established in 1983, the Ethiopian Community Development Council serves as a welcoming presence to bring hope, workable solutions, and opportunities to African refugees and immigrants. Through local and national programs, ECDC helps African newcomers become productive and responsible individuals as they face daily challenges to establish new lives in the United States. Based in Arlington, Va., ECDC conducts educational and social service programs that aid individuals in recovering from past traumas, gain personal independence and economic self-sufficiency, and preserve their cultural heritage. As a National Voluntary Agency authorized by the Department of State, ECDC is a national voice bringing an African perspective to issues that affect refugees here and in Africa.

The Boston Chinatown Neighborhood Center assists over 4,000 individuals each year in their efforts to improve the quality of life in Boston’s Asian American communities. Through bilingual education, childcare, cultural, social, youth, and recreation programs, BCNC provides participants with the stepping-stones needed to become successful and productive members of society. Since its inception in 1969, BCNC has helped Asian Americans of all ages secure a footing in their communities and improve their lives. As an affiliate of the Boston Centers for Youth and Families, BCNC works with over 40 centers to coordinate and improve city services and resources for Boston neighborhoods.
